Of all the ways you can enjoy the sweetness of fresh blueberries, one of my favorites has to be inside a creamy, luscious cheesecake! This Blueberry Cheesecake Tart has a baked blueberry cheesecake layer topped with a smooth homemade blueberry curd that makes every bite bright and bursting with flavor. I know it will become your new favorite summer dessert. Chilled to perfection, it's a sweet way to cool you down on warmer days, and stunning enough to bring to any gathering and share with friends!
I always have so much fun making layered desserts because I love how easy they are to put together. But what I love most is how you can combine two incredible things into one beautiful creation. In life, we are never just one thing, right? We're built in layers. This is so very true for me. I wouldn't be able to dance to only one note, I want to dance them all! I like to make the most of the good, the bad, and the ugly (and the pretty, of course!). And I like my cheesecakes the same way: expressing different notes and textures through every single bite. That's the beauty of cooking. You can dance to so many notes at the same time!…
If you’re looking for a dessert that’s as effortless as it is beautiful, this No-Bake Lemon Tart with a Rosemary-Infused Chocolate Crust is it. It’s a bright, impressive recipe that feels both classic and beautifully unexpected. The rosemary-infused crust adds an interesting, warm, and earthy twist. This easy lemon tart comes together quickly and only needs a few hours to set in the fridge, making it the perfect make-ahead recipe when you want to impress guests with something truly unique.
And before you turn me down because of the rosemary, let me tell you: the flavor is really subtle. What it does is to highlight the earthy notes of the cocoa powder in the crust, making the chocolate taste richer and the lemon taste even more vibrant. You can always leave it out, but I highly recommend you don’t. You won't be sorry!
Lemon and chocolate is such an unexpected yet delicate and delicious combination. The idea of putting these two together started exactly…
This tiramisu with a brownie bottom has to be one of the best things I have ever made! What’s not to love about coffee and chocolate together?! The tiramisu is super creamy, silky, and decadent. Even though I use pasteurized eggs, I cooked the egg yolks and egg whites slightly to make it safe for everyone. The brownie bottom, besides adding an amazing chocolate note, creates an incredible contrast in texture to the soft and creamy tiramisu. It’s a wonderful dessert that no one will have enough of!
Why did I add a brownie crust to this classic tiramisu in the first place? Well, the truth is I’ve never been a tiramisu fan. The few ones I had tasted made me think tiramisu wasn’t my kind of dessert. How high were my expectations at Italian restaurants, waiting for that special treat—maybe after a delicious romantic meal—only to be left pretty annoyed about not having ordered something else from the dessert menu. I’ve had my share of bland, dry, watery, or worse, all of those things combined. I knew I had to make my own version and experience for myself that special taste true Italians rave about…
This ice cream, you guys!! It’s your favorite cheesecake in a cone! This eggless ice cream is packed with fresh blueberries for a burst of freshness in every bite, plus plenty of graham cracker pieces for that irresistible cheesecake crunch. Every spoonful is creamy, tangy, rich, and full of flavor. You and your people won’t be able to stop eating this!
If you’re wondering how cream cheese works in ice cream, let me tell you, it’s a match made in heaven. The tanginess balances the sweetness of the sugar and fruit, while the fat from the cream adds richness. On top of that, cream cheese gives the ice cream a gorgeous velvety texture that’s creamier than anything else…
You are going to love this super Gooey Brookie Pie. It’s brownies and cookies combined. What’s not to love about that?! It’s extra gooey and decadent, and I promise you won’t be able to stop at just one piece. The brownie layer is packed with chocolate chips for that fudgy texture, and the cookie layer is loaded with sweet and buttery white chocolate chips. The macadamia nuts bring a beautiful nutty note that pairs so well with both chocolates. It’s a delicious combination of textures and flavors that’s impossible to resist.
But wait! What’s brookies in the first place? Brookies are a mix of brownie batter and cookie dough baked together. Some recipes marble both batters, but I love layering one on top of the other. I think you’ll enjoy the contrast of textures more this way…
If you’re already spotting cherries, don’t waste another day and make this sumptuous White Forest Cake! This is a very fluffy, moist, and soft white sponge cake with a very delicate crumb, thanks to using cake flour and some white chocolate in the batter. It’s soaked in a simple cherry syrup, filled with a homemade liquor-spiked cherry compote, and covered with a light and soft whipped cream frosting. It’s a dream of a cake!
You know that for me, cooking has always been about celebrating whatever I have in front. And when out of the blue, my mom sent me a full bag of cherries, I knew it was time to bake something delicious with her special gift. She just thought I would love them and of course she was sooo right!…
This cake, guys!
It’s a sour almond loaf with a tangy bite, thanks to the buttermilk and sour cream in the batter. The crumb is tight but soft, almost delicate, thanks to using cake flour mixed with just a small amount of all-purpose flour. I also swapped most of the vanilla for almond extract to let those bright, sour notes shine all the way through. And then—then you hit that sweet lemony glaze, made with lemon juice and steeped hibiscus tea. It’s totally addictive. Not kidding. I ate two slices back to back without blinking. So yes, eat at your own risk.
What I love most about this cake is how naturally it fits into everyday life. You can eat it whenever the moment calls—first thing in the morning with coffee, mid-afternoon for no reason at all, or late at night…

This lemon curd cheesecake tart is incredibly creamy and bursting with lemon brightness. I also infused the crust with basil, and it brings out the lemon flavor beautifully—adding a floral, fresh note to every bite. It’s a super easy make-ahead dessert. So happy and vibrant, this tart will make you smile with every bite.
By now, you probably know I can’t help but create cheesecakes whenever I have the chance. And this combination is such a personal favorite—I know I’ll never go wrong with it. So when I suddenly caught a glance at a bowl full of bright lemons…
(Updated post! I added the ingredients’ amounts in grams and, as requested, eliminated the passionfruit and multiplied the recipe by 0.5 to make it a 3-layer cake.)
I’m so excited for this classic carrot cake recipe! You know I have a new carrot cake version every year, and this one is a new rendition you will love so much! It’s loaded with dried apricots and roasted pecans. It also has a bit of cream cheese in the cake batter for more tanginess. The creamy and easy cream cheese frosting is made with brown butter for extra nuttiness. This cake is made by hand, and it’s so fun to make. I’m sure it will be one of your new favorites this season!
Sharing this cake with you feels very important to me because I’m sharing a significant piece of my life. If you’ve been reading this blog for a long time, you probably know that carrot cakes were (and surely still are) Mariana’s favorite. The first time I baked a carrot cake in my life was for her!…
(Update: I included the ingredient’s amounts in grams, added some extra notes and added the recipe card for printing. Post in the same, so a little throwback to 4 ½ years ago. And of course, a short video for you to see how incredibly easy these are done. This recipe is super special for me because it was the last recipe I shot with Mariana by my side. I remember mashing one of these with almond milk so she could taste them, because she loved soft spiced cakes. These pics will be here forever! I hope you love these as much as Mariana and we do!)
These super cute cinnamon mini Bundt cakes filled with dulce de leche were made out of no time and out of a pantry full of nothing. They are super soft and full of cinnamon flavor that goes perfectly with all the dulce de leche inside. But you know what the best part of these cuties is? They are made with...
Are you as excited for Christmas as I am? I can’t tell you how much we have been waiting for this time of the year. It’s always an uplifting time for the soul!
In the rush of the season, when I want to bake basically everything and share it with the people I love, sugared cranberries are always around. They are so full of sweetness and make the perfect thinking-of-you gift. Also, they will make any baked good look as if it came out of a Christmas tree instead of an oven.
What I love about sugared cranberries, besides that deep burgundy reddish color, is that they are…
Aren’t these mini carrot cakes the cutest?! These mini carrot cakes are incredibly moist and super soft thanks to the olive oil and buttermilk I used in this recipe. You can use coconut milk for a dairy-free version. They are warm and spiced with a good amount of cinnamon and ginger and a touch of cardamom and all-spice. It has a ton of carrots and some chopped pistachios for extra crunch. Trust me the flavor will burst in your mouth after every bite!
I love baking carrot cakes. They’re Mariana’s favorite and it was the first kind of cake she ever had. I have made different versions depending on her favorite flavors at the moment, one time even doing a cherry cream cheese frosting because she was loving cherry jelly at the time. And the frosting has always been her favorite part. I know that wherever…
This flaky and buttery pear and blueberry rustic tart is a dream! The sweet and tart flavor of the blueberries enhances the sweet earthy notes of pears. A layer of sweet cream cheese not only adds more texture and flavor but also protects the crust from getting soggy. Bits of bleu cheese and roasted walnuts add so much contrast and make this tart extra flavorful. It’s a simple pleasure that you can have anytime!
I’m so happy I made this pear and blueberry tart! It’s been a while since I’ve made my buttery and flaky pie crust. I guess I ate too much pie in previous years so pies and I decided we needed a break. But who’s kidding? I missed them a lot and when I took out my food processor and made a crust in less than 10 minutes, I realized…
This Lemon Olive Oil Cake is tender, soft and super moist. It’s a simple cake recipe that you can make in about an hour any time you are craving a sweet and easy bite. But the addition of the lemon curd in the batter and a crowning mellow meringue on top make this a showstopper for any special occasion! It’s simply a crowdpleaser!
If you have never baked a cake with olive oil, you are missing out badly! Baking cakes with olive oil is perfectly fine. You know I love olive oil cakes. The lightness…
You want Brownie Cheesecake Bars. But also you want Dulce de Leche Cheesecake bars. Why you can’t have both? Enter these brownie cheesecake bars topped with dulce de leche. Or these dulce de leche cheesecake bars with a brownie crust. I really don’t know how should I call them. I just know they are little bombs of sweetness with it’s soft and chewy brownie bottom, it’s super creamy and fluffy cheesecake center and it’s dulce de leche topping that brings all it’s lovely notes of caramel to these cheesecake bars.
Wait no more! This is the only pumpkin bread recipe you’ll need this fall season! It’s incredibly moist, with a soft and tender crumb, loaded with warm spices and lots of chocolate chips. It’s made with sour cream and oil, two ingredients that not only help in making this cake ultra soft, they also help in keeping it that way for days!!! Every bite will be warm and cozy, like a hug in a crisp fall morning!
If there’s a food that universally screams fall that’s pumpkin. When mixed with warm and aromatic spices like cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves it makes you think of that cozy spot in your home…
I am to believe that a simple smear of Nutella makes anything better and this recipe is a living proof of that! This is nothing more than two simple sugar cookies with some Nutella in between. With a pink glaze and a bit of flare, these are the easiest and prettiest cookies you can possibly make. And you will want to gift them to your sister, your girlfriends and to anyone you love very much!
Inadvertently, sugar cookies made their way to my life even with stubborn hesitation. As it happens with my Extra Creamy Cream Cheese frosting (which btw, could be a fabulous filling for these as well!), you would think that living in the tropics comes…
This Apple Ricotta Cake is soooo gooey I needed to mentioned in the title! It's very crumbly, tender and incredibly moist as all of my ricotta cakes. It’s perfect for any time you want a sweet simple cake to share with people you love during the fall season.
Ok, you’re probably guessing by now that I love ricotta cakes! They are so versatile! I have read so many stories of you baking many of my ricotta cakes for brunch, tea parties and…
These sticky pecan cinnamon rolls with cinnamon cream cheese icing will be your new breakfast obsession for fall! They’re so soft and gooey that I couldn't even tear them apart prettily for the video. They kept falling down from my hands while dripping the syrup from the brown sugar filling. I have never been happier to have my hands so sticky!
Why are these pecan cinnamon rolls the best ones ever? First, I toasted the pecans for an intense nutty flavor. Second, I brushed a cinnamon simple syrup on top of the baked rolls to make them sticky. Lastly, I added…
You may think of this as a classic lemon olive oil cake, but then each bite has the sweet and aromatic notes of basil. Doesn’t it sound delicious?! This cake is very soft, moist, supple and lemony. It’s the cake for lemon lovers because it has lemon juice and lemon zest all over it! The cake itself is made in less than 45 minutes, including prep time, and you only need a few basic ingredients to make it. A super creamy buttercream with a touch of lemon and cream cheese is, literally, the icing on the cake!
What can be more amazing than s’mores wrapped in a buttery and flaky puff pastry? You’ll love this s’mores puff pastry when you need a snack or, let's face it, during those mornings when you are craving chocolate for breakfast. Each bite is crunchy and delicious! You only need 5 ingredients and 30 minutes to put this together. Start now and thank me 30 minutes later!
I’m not a big fan of s’mores but someone around here loves them. What I love is creating s’mores versions of other beloved recipes, like I did with…
This Peach Cream Cheese Puff Pastry Tart recipe is so ridiculously easy, I can see you making it every time you want to make something cute and super delicious for breakfast in no time! It uses frozen puff pastry dough sheets and each tart has a sweet cream cheese filling. I used juicy fresh peaches for that peaches-n-creme feel, but you can use apricots, nectarines or even plums. It doesn't require for you to spend hours in the kitchen or lots of ingredients. This is a recipe that will never let you down.
When I crossed paths with some sweet juicy fresh peaches I thought immediately about making this recipe. I know the vibrant peach color will sweeten the soul and brighten anything. Maybe that’s why…
This easy Lemon Yogurt Cake is incredibly fluffy, moist and tender! I am kidding you not when I tell you it will kind of melt in your hand if you try to grab a piece. The star is the crunchy sugary topping, something I’ll start using in many other cakes now. I can’t go back now! It’s a technique you can use in many cakes. Start with this one and you will be hooked for ever!
I guess we can never have too many easy snacking cake recipes! They’re so good, morning, evening and night and anything in between. For me, they’re especially priceless for late night, when I’m craving…
What’s better than a Ferrero Rocher? Gooey fudgy brownies with lots of Ferrero Rocher inside! These super easy brownies are made in no time as well as gone in no time! They are totally addictive and hit you so, so well!
I think brownies have always been kind of magical. They were probably the first baking experience for most of us completely on our own. And, yes, I’m aware that experience was with brownie mix out of a box. But still, the magic of mixing a few simple ingredients by hand…
I can’t even tell you how much fun are these Sparkling Wine Strawberry Lavender Ice Cream floats. Think of these as that root beer float you love, but way nicer, prettier and fancier!! The elderflower notes in the St. Germain dance beautifully with the lavender and, well, the strawberries with the champagne are a perfect classic pair that needs no words. These floats are what summer daydreams are all about.
There are so many things that have written summer all over them, like watermelon, flip-flops and the desire of doing absolutely nothing after 3pm. But for me, nothing screams summer louder than strawberry ice cream. Fresh strawberry ice cream is the quintessential ice cream…
This lemon pistachio cake is out of this world!! With a super soft and tender crumb, is a cake perfect for snacking and sharing around. I promise you can get a prettier swirl than mine, but you have to keep reading to understand why is that! The point is that this is another wonderful loaf cake recipe that you need to have on your repertoire for those moments you want a classic simple cake.
I have to admit I was pretty hesitant about sharing this cake. It has been sitting in my computer for a few weeks now. It was addictive and so good! But being my own director, cinematographer production assistant and talent while filming videos has its consequences, haha! For some reason I had to rush the process a bit while filming…
This Raspberry Almond Ricotta Cake is moist and light with an incredible texture. You wouldn't believe it’s final texture when you see the dense and thick batter entering the oven, but the ricotta brings so much lightness to this cake that makes it perfect for breakfast or snacking any time. And is so incredibly effortless to make, that trust me, once you make one, you will be baking it in repeat. It’s the perfect cake for the upcoming summery days!
You know why ricotta cakes are perfect for me, and there’s a good chance for you too? Because you can make them with almost whatever the heck you want! You know cooking and baking is…
Two of the best desserts in the world combined! This no-bake tres leches tiramisu is made with traditional ladyfingers that are soaked in a three milk syrup, as in the traditional tres leches cake. This is an insanely rich and creamy tiramisu that never gets soggy because the syrup is thick and velvety. That’s why this decadent dessert is so delicious! It’s a delicate combination that celebrates the beauty and simplicity of using everyday ingredients in unexpected ways.
I think tiramisu is one of those desserts that can be intimidating but in reality it’s ridiculously easy to make. You don’t have to turn the oven on, which I never mind but still is one step less, and requires simple everyday ingredients…
This Asparagus, Fontina, and Pancetta Spring Focaccia is the perfect recipe for those times you want to combine spring flavors in a unique way. The bread crumb is fluffy, soft, and chewy, with a thin, golden crispy crust that is impossible to resist. It’s baked to perfection with fresh herbs, olive oil, asparagus, pancetta, and plenty of cheese! I made an Arugula and Blood Orange Spring Pesto to dip every piece. This bread is the perfect canvas for all the spring flavors we love in a single bite!
If you love bread as much as I do, then I’m sure focaccia is at the top of your favorites. It has so much flavor, mostly because of the insane amount of olive oil it needs (thank God it’s a healthy fat, right?). Plus it’s always fun to play around with different herbs and seasonal toppings…
If you’re looking for an exciting 30-minute dinner, these Asian Ginger Noodles in Broth are it. It’s a light and flavorful noodle soup bold in ginger and garlic flavor, plus the red Thai peppers bring just the right amount of heat. The noodles and fresh vegetables are simmered together in a simple, aromatic broth in minutes. They’re warm and comforting any day of the week, that’s why we have them on repeat here at home.
The beauty of these Asian noodles is that they will taste great with almost any vegetables or leafy greens you love, but I always use Asian noodles basic veggies like onions, mushrooms and any kind of bell peppers. You can add any protein like chicken, beef, fish or shrimp. Or leave them just packed with veggies, because there’s something incredibly comforting about keeping it simple!…
I’m taking everything we love about this classic recipe (buttery, garlicky and so indulgent) and giving it a little upgrade! These Cheesy Confit Garlic Spinach Bread Rolls are soft, plush, and filled with sautéed spinach, toasted pine nuts, and melty cheese—but what really makes them special is the garlic confit. Instead of just tossing in minced garlic, I slow-cook whole cloves in olive oil until they’re caramelized, golden, and completely mellow. The kind of mellow that fills your kitchen with a beautiful, buttery, nutty smell that makes you want to dip a piece of bread in the pan before you’ve even finished the recipe.
You’ll be surprised at how easy it is to make the garlic confit. It just asks for time and a little bit of patience while your kitchen transforms into the coziest place to be. You just have to submerge garlic cloves in olive oil and let a very low-temperature oven do its magic…
These golden and flaky onion and cheese pinwheels are so fun and full of so much flavor! They are buttery, crisp, and loaded with caramelized onions, fresh herbs and melty cheese. They are easily made and you only need 1 hour from start to finish. The best part is that you can store them in the fridge and reheat in the oven when you need to grab a quick breakfast or salty snack without compromising on flavor. That’s never negotiable!
First of all, yes, these are a homemade copycat of those Costco onion and cheese pinwheels that everyone is taking about. Or at least everyone on my FY page ; ) They have been taking the internet by storm and if you’ve ever wandered past the bakery section at Costco, you probably have already seen these magical golden pastries that everyone…
This summery fresh Peach Blueberry Brie salad is a dream. It feels light, sweet and full of tanginess thanks to the sweet peaches combined with the peppery arugula and the umami notes of the Brie. Peaches and cheese, what’s not to love? Each peach is filled with a homemade blueberry compote that’s made with 3 ingredients and in only 10 minutes, and topped with a cute mini Brie wheel. The cool thing about this salad is the peach dressing made with fresh peach pulp. It’s a beautiful and bright salad that’s a joy to make and stare!
I’ve been having so many peaches around lately that I wanted to make something different and refreshing. Even if I could be making peach desserts non-stop (there’s another peach cake coming that will blow your mind!), I was in need of a little change for my use to peaches. Having at hand right-at-their-peak peaches made me…
These flaky and golden onion and cheese puff pastry potato tarts are very simple and super easy to make! I used store-bought frozen puff pastry to make my life a bit easier. Each tart has a layer of creamy cream cheese with lots of fresh herbs, melt-in-your mouth sweet sautéed onions, a mixture of fontina and white cheddar cheeses and thin slices of creamy and waxy Yukon golden potatoes. They are so perfect and so delicious!
What I love about these tarts is that they are made with very simple and basic ingredients that, because I know you, I know you already have most of them in your fridge. And if you don’t, don’t worry because it’s just a matter…
These sautéed potatoes have the crispiest surface and the softest center! They’re one of my favorite things to cook and eat! The reason they’re impossibly crispy and soft at the same time is because they’re first slow cooked in olive oil, kind of a confit, making the potatoes tender on the inside, and then cooked in high heat to finish up sealing that crispy outside. Each potato bite is decadent and so flavorful! Do you ever thought you’ll be talking about potatoes the same way you talk about ice cream? After you make these, you definitely will!
It was in high school when I tasted the most amazing plate of potatoes. Way better than French fries!! I was at a friend’s house and her mother made them for us as a snack. After trying them I was curious about…
This easy overnight pizza dough requieres no mixer, 5 basic ingredients and a minimum of hand kneading. This simple dough renders a crispy, golden and chewy crust. And you won’t need a pizza stone, a pizza peel or a pizza oven. You just need the basic tools you already have at home! If I did it that way, you can make it too!! For this pizza I added chopped rosemary and lemon zest to the dough and topped it with tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, fig spread and arugula. But the magic of this recipe is that you can make it with whatever you want. It’s your creation! Now, hang up the phone because you won’t be needing delivery pizza anymore!
That was exactly what I thought after making my first pizza dough at home from scratch. It’s way too easy!! Okay, you will probably have pizza for delivery every now and then, but boy, you’ll think it twice! And since…
Can you believe this beautiful romantic picnic for can be made in less than an hour?! Roasted olives in a sweet lemony oil, a cheese tray and roasted scallops is all you need for a simple but out-of-the-ordinary meal during a crisp Valentine’s night. Add pretty flowers and some candles and you you’ll have a lovely date without the stress of planning a full dinner in advance one!
Is a picnic date romantic? I happen to think it is super romantic! I love eating picnic style in my own home, blanket on the floor completely optional! For me the casual vibe to it make the mood even more special, especially when serving extraordinary and typically sexy foods, like seafood, good olives, high quality cheeses and good wine. Eating with your fingers…
A super crispy asparagus puff pastry tart, that keeps sturdy after baked even with a creamy filling? Yes please!! This tart is the definition of slow spring living. Fresh asparagus, fresh herbs, lemon zest, prosciutto and a creamy cheesy spread. It’s done in 30 minutes, from prep to bite. Serve it with a simple spring leaves salad with a sweet or mustardy vinaigrette and a crisp white wine as I did. You’ll be smiling bite after bite!
I like to think of this puff pastry tart as a cheat tart. It’s super good, will make you feel kind of fancy, the kind of recipe that will elevate any moment it’s served. But only you and me will know…
A super easy and quick pasta that feels fancy and perfect for a cozy weekend date night in? Yes, please!! Even if this pasta is made in 30 minutes and has a few list of ingredients, it is anything but basic. The addition of clams makes it kind of fancy, no matter on what setting you are serving it and the pairing of fennel seeds and white pepper makes it unexpectedly flavorful and a very interesting combination.
As you probably know by now, pastas are my go to dish almost every time. And no, it is not becase I’m lazy and pastas are usually done in a snap. The reason I keep going back for them is because..
I can’t even tell you how excited I‘m to bring you this spicy seafood stew recipe. It has a delicate tomato sauce base seasoned just with fennel seeds, ground white pepper and red chili flakes. I made an arugula and orange zest pesto to drizzle on top for a burst of freshness. The plates were squeaky clean after everyone finished their meal. It’s one of those recipes…
Romesco sauce is a raw sauce traditional from Catalonia, Spain, and uses roasted red bell peppers, tomatoes, almonds, sometimes breadcrumbs, some spice elements and some acidic elements as its base. You can imagine how many versions of Romesco are out there, even in Spain. So I can say that if you have these elements and eat the sauce raw, you may call it a Romesco or Romesco inspired sauce. This raw sauce is super flavorful and goes wonderful with grilled or broiled fish or veggies. And my version has a few tweaks from the original ingredients for an updated but still delicious take on the wonderful Romesco sauce.
This easy homemade hummus got a trendy update just by adding some everything bagel seasoning to it. Its texture is super creamy and silky. And how I wish for all of you to taste how scrumptious it is through this picture. The everything bagel seasoning adds some nice notes of garlic and onion and also adds some crunchy texture on every bite. It’s so irresistible!
I don’t think it can get easier than this watermelon blueberry cheese salad! It’s super fresh and full of summer flavors. I dressed it up just with lime juice, olive oil, mint, salt and pepper. I used local queso blanco del país, which is a very mild cow’s milk cheese made here in Puerto Rico. But you can use any other soft and crumbly cheese such as queso fresco, halloumi or even gorgonzola for a stronger cheese flavor. I served it over arugula and toasty bread on the side. Every bite was just pure summer bliss!
These easy Mediterranean stuffed tomatoes are simply bursting in fragrant summer flavors! I made a Jasmine rice salad with sautéed halloumi, black olives, red onions, Parmesan cheese and a red wine vinaigrette full of earthy herbs. Made in barely 45 minutes, it’s the perfect summer meal, super fresh and light!
Even if the holidays are mega officially here and we wish to eat our weight (and the neighbor’s) in cookies and cake, we still need to eat, right?! Like real, substantial food I mean. That’s why I needed to share with you this super creamy pasta I made the other day using coconut milk, all the fresh squash from the season and lots of earthy herbs for a warm and comforting pasta meal. No heavy cream or butter this time. All the creaminess of the sauce comes purely from the coconut milk, the starch from the pasta water and all the cheese melted into it.
Today I’m very excited to share this creamy pumpkin risotto recipe with you. It’s infused with sage at different stages of the cooking process and I glossed it up with a good sprinkle of a sweet and salty Manchego cheese. This is such a compelling dish! I love how a simple risotto could make any occasion feel extra special!
This is an easy summer herb pasta that should be in your repertoire. The pasta sauce is infused with fragrant herbs and cheese, plus it’s served with a generous amount of whipped burrata, ricotta and cream cheese for an insanely simple and delicious meal. And you'll make it in less than 25 minutes, and that’s including prep time!
I know you're going to love this Black Forest Cake as much as I ended up loving it! My version is made with a fluffy and intense sponge chocolate cake soaked in a cocoa-cherry syrup, a cherry filling made with fresh cherries for that real cherry flavor we love, and a stabilized whipped cream that's airy and supple but still stays in place. I topped it all and frosted the whole cake with a shiny and rich chocolate ganache. This Black Forest Cake skips the fuss of its traditional presentation, which, ironically, I feel makes it look more elegant and modern. It's a recipe you'll hold tight to your heart!
I never loved Black Forest cakes because most of the versions I tried were dry, bland, and somewhat gummy, so I wasn't experiencing that decadence I'm always expecting when I have anything chocolate in front of me. That dryness comes mostly from a sponge cake that isn't properly taken care of, from the ingredients used to the baking process and how it's handled once baked. That's why I took matters into my own hands and did plenty of research until I created a chocolate Genoise sponge cake that feels soft and light even when its batter is made without butter or oil…
Get ready to taste one of the best cakes you'll ever have! This moist cherry cake recipe has swirled a homemade chunky cherry compote and lots of white chocolate chips, which creates a velvety and super tender crumb. It's an exciting cake recipe to use all the cherries that the season is bringing right now! It rises super tall and ends up with a thin crunchy topping while the inside remains incredibly soft. I kid you not, this has to be one of the best cakes I've ever made!
This easy cherry cake is the combination of many other cake recipes I have made. I picked the best of all of them, and then added white chocolate chips! The cocoa butter in the white chocolate chips melts into the batter slowly, creating a dense, velvety, and incredibly moist crumb, making this snacking cake feel elegant and luxurious. This extra moistness and the luscious syrup from the cherry compote keep the cake soft for days! So go ahead and bake it confidently the day before any gathering…
This fluffy Raspberry Almond Ricotta Cake has to be the most perfect snacking cake for spring. It is a simple, two-bowl cake made with everyday baking ingredients, but the flavors are anything but basic. Raspberry, lemon, and almond is one of those timeless combinations that works every time. The brightness of the lemon zest, the nuttiness of the almond, and the tartness of the raspberries complement each other beautifully in this cake. It’s a delicate dessert that everyone at your next spring brunch or book club party will love!
You know in this blog, ricotta cakes are a star! You simply love all of them, and have made each of them go viral on social.
It all started with the original Plum Ricotta Cake (which I am currently updating for you!). But the recipe that truly sparked our collective ricotta cake obsession was the Blueberry Almond Ricotta Cake. Then came the Gooey Apple Ricotta Cake…
This easy Lemon Cream Snacking Cake is a soft, fluffy bake, perfect for when you need a simple and quick sweet bite! You will love making this delicious snacking cake because it only requires two bowls, a hand whisk, and a handful of everyday ingredients. It is incredible with just a simple dusting of powdered sugar or a touch of whipped cream. I know you’ll be saving this under your favorite weekend baking projects that don’t require a mixer!
This recipe is actually inspired by the viral Italian lemon cream cake, but I’ve made a few tweaks to enhance the lemon flavor and ensure a fluffier crumb. I also love to add a few blueberries on top; not only is the lemon blueberry combination a match made in heaven, but the berries add a pretty pop of color. The contrast between the soft cake and the creamy, homemade pastry cream spiral is such a lovely surprise in every bite…
If you are looking for a simple, unfussy dessert that features guava paste, you will love this rich, buttery, and crumbly guava and cream cheese cake. It’s a fun idea for a Latin twist on the classic French Gateau Breton cake, which has a very decadent texture that dances between a shortbread and a pound cake. You only need a handful of ingredients and a few hours to have this easy guava cake on your plate. This is a recipe that always impresses everyone around you, but the person most impressed will be yourself!
For many of us, childhood flavors are the answers to most of our problems. Well, maybe not most of them to be honest, but definitely the ones that can be solved by regulating our nervous system with a trip back to those simpler days. For me, the combination of guava and cream cheese is one of those emotional tools I have guarded deep in my pockets. To this day, there’s not an issue that a guava and cream cheese pastry with a cafecito won’t solve…
Making these extra moist carrot cupcakes made me reminisce about the first attempts at baking cupcakes from scratch. Flour dust on every corner, spoons scattered across every surface, and a sticky kitchen floor thanks to all the sugar finding their way out of the bowl. The recipe says one hour, but three hours later the kitchen is still in chaos, and you’re standing there, impatiently waiting for that first bite. A few bakes down the road we become seasoned bakers. Or at least we feel like that! Our confidence grows, we are way less messy, and cupcakes start making their way into every special occasion, because every celebration deserves something delicious made you!
I created this amazing carrot cupcake recipe back in those days. I made them with both carrot purée and freshly shredded carrots, giving them an incredibly soft and moist texture that holds beautifully for a long time. Adding toasted pecans, cinnamon, and a bit of nutmeg makes them feel rich and warm. No mixer is needed here because the batter comes together in a food processor, making the process simple and effortless for a carrot cupcake recipe made from scratch. The unexpected raspberry cream cheese frosting adds a bright and fruity twist that makes these cupcakes feel even more special…
This easy, moist, one-layer carrot cake features a smooth and creamy cheesecake filling swirled inside. I love combining two of my favorite recipes to create a marbled dessert that is even more delicious! The soft, rich cake contrasts perfectly with the creamy texture of the cheesecake, while the tangy cream cheese balances the warmth of the cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger spices. Decorate it simply with a velvety homemade whipped cream and toasted pecans; it is sure to be the star of any spring gathering.
If you’ve been around here for a while, you know how special carrot cake in all its forms is for this blog; It’s Mariana’s absolute favorite! I love playing with different flavors and techniques (no matter how crazy they can be) to keep it feeling special, but…
This naturally gluten-free Lemon Lavender Almond Cake, inspired in the famous Torta Caprese Bianca, is soft and tender, with a light, slightly crumbly texture that comes from using almond flour instead of traditional flour. Melted white chocolate helps the cake stay moist for days while adding a subtle extra layer of sweetness. Bright lemon zest and culinary lavender give it a gentle floral note that makes it perfect for spring! Use a lace cloth to create a romantic pattern with powdered sugar, and you’ll have the most beautiful cake with almost no effort.
I was actually very pleased with how this recipe turned out the first time I made it, especially considering it was my first time ever baking a naturally gluten-free cake from scratch. I’ve used cup-for-cup or 1-to-1 gluten-free blends before, but I had never made a cake with a wholesome flour alternative like almond flour…
If you are as fixated as I am with that golden Mediterranean feel, you’re going to be obsessed with my Clementine Olive Oil Cake! It’s fruity, lightly floral, and the citrus notes hit fresher and more bitter rather than sour. The olive oil adds a subtle earthy note that makes this cake quite special, so using a high-quality olive oil is key. The unfussy whipped cream frosting balances perfectly the spongy and airy cake texture. I promise it’s easily breezily done, and you will fall in love with it with every single bite.
My fascination with citrus and olive oil started with a trip to Corfu, Greece, and Dubrovnik, Croatia, a few years back. Even though it’s a classic and obvious combination, you become obsessed with it after discovering places…
Nothing is better than a warm cake that serves as dessert, snack, or even breakfast. I promise this Blueberry Cream Cheese Panetela Cake is exactly that! The butteriness and gooeyness are like nothing you have tasted before, and every bite will not only fill your belly but also your soul. A little oil and an extra yolk in my original panetelas recipe sure did the magic in this cake, making it more golden, tender, and totally dreamy!
If you are still lost thinking what the heck panetelas are in the first place, let me tell you that you have been missing out a lot! Panetelas are a traditional and very beloved bake from here and other Caribbean islands. They are filled with guava paste, dusted with an embarrassing amount of powdered sugar, and cut in pretty cute squares. So many memories attached to these little cakes! And little did I know how ridiculously easy they’re to make until I decided it was time to cross them off my “will love to bake” list. And when I finally did, the internal bragging lasted a few good days!…
This Ricotta Peach Upside Down Cake has everything you love in a simple summer bake. It’s buttery and light, with just enough richness to hold up under all that summery fruit. The ricotta in the batter keeps every bite extra moist and fluffy. There’s no caramel to make, just melted butter, sugar, and the natural juices of the peaches doing all the work. The result is a beautiful and mesmerizing peach cake that’s going to be loved by everyone around!
There’s a reason people never get tired of a good upside down cake. Maybe it’s the retro charm, or the fact that you get your fruit and glaze already built in. They’re dramatic in the best way! Every time you flip one, you’re just praying for the best. But beyond that intriguing wow moment, they’re incredibly cozy and comforting. Just a soft, tender, simple cake flavored with the goodness of fresh fruit…
She just thought I would love them and of course she was sooo right!…
This super-moist and super-soft Lemon Blueberry Cake is bursting with tangy spring flavor. It’s for serious lemon lovers—because there’s lemon everywhere you look! I layered it with my smoothest, creamiest cream cheese frosting, made with more cream cheese than butter and just the right hit of lemon juice. Honestly, it might be the best lemon blueberry cake with cream cheese frosting you’ll ever make.
I think my excitement for this one comes from the fact that its delicious taste and tender texture were kind of an accident. But like the metaphorical proverb I first heard in Kung Fu Panda…
The first time I baked a carrot cake in my life was for her!…
Welcome to the easiest recipe you’re about to become obsessed with! I made a version of the famous Gâteau Breton, aka Butter Cake, just for you! This rich and buttery French cake has a texture that lands somewhere between shortbread and pound cake. It requires just a handful of ingredients and less than two hours to make. Traditionally, it’s filled with jam, but I made a sweet and juicy homemade blueberry compote to spread inside. It’s total decadence in the simplest way!
You know how some recipes just have a way of pulling you in? That’s exactly what happened when I first came across Gâteau Breton. I couldn't stop imagining myself baking it while gazing out the window of my pretend Provence kitchen, fields of lavender in sight. It feels luxurious, yet it couldn’t be simpler to make. I think that contrast is what makes this cake…
You won’t be able to resist this incredibly soft and fluffy Lemon Orange Ricotta Cake. Every bite will simply melt in your mouth! It combines the tangy brightness of lemon and orange with the rich and creamy ricotta. It has a bit of extra virgin olive oil, vanilla, orange water and almond for lots of flavor in every bite. It’s luxurious yet comforting, and one of the best cakes that you’ll ever have!
There's something magical about a cake that feels like a warm hug when you most need it. And I’m a hugger so I am up for hugs any time. This cake is one of those recipes and it never fails to brighten my day! The combination of lemon and orange makes this cake so refreshing. We love having it for breakfast with a hot cup of coffee, feels indulgent but tastes light. Even friends that aren’t sweet lovers (but I love them anyway) can’t resist…
I know you’ll love this rich and buttery Strawberry Gooey Butter Cake as much as I do! This highly addictive cake requieres no elaborated techniques nor complicated steps. It’s just a recipe that delivers big flavor with minimal effort. What I love the most is the contrast between the buttery cake layer with the gooey cream cheese layer and the sweet homemade strawberry compote. This combination of textures and flavors is everything you want in a dessert; simple, satisfying, and just the right amount of indulgent!
After having created two previous versions (that all of you have been loving so much since published) with fresh blueberries and with peaches, I wanted to use some juicy and very bright strawberries that I was lucky enough to find. I have never loved baked strawberries, so what I did this time was…
When you are looking for a new and delicious adventure, why not challenge the laws of baking by mashing up a cake and a cheesecake? Combining a soft and fluffy cake with a creamy and dense cheesecake gives a very cool exciting contrast. Each bite will bring a surprise to your senses, going from the tender crumb of the cake to the velvety richness of the cheesecake.
Mashing up these two desserts is like inviting two best friends to the same party: you get to have what you love about each and even more, because when brought together, they create something totally unexpected and even more fun!…
It’s finally here! I'm talking about Fall! Instead of waiting for pumpkins to turn into carriages, lets turn them into something delicious with all the spices, caramel and nuts we love to mix them up with. This incredibly soft, moist and flavorful Pumpkin Spice Coffee Cake is the perfect recipe to start warming up yourself with all the Fall bakes that are already living in our minds. The punch of brown sugar is the star of the show, mellowed with a beautiful blend of warm spices that will make you come back for more. The streusel on top is made with a homemade pumpkin butter and perfectly toasted pecans. There’s no better buddy to your coffee than this delicious cake!
Before we jump into the recipe, let’s talk about what is a coffee cake. I know it sounds crazy, but coffee cake doesn't actually have coffee in it. It’s called coffee cake because of its dense and tender texture, the crumb bits from the streusel and the layer of brown sugar in the middle make it the ideal snacking cake to have with your cup of coffee. So please, don't think the recipe is missing something because you are not seeing coffee listed in the ingredients, even though the addition of some espresso powder wouldn't be such a bad idea!...
Have you ever heard of a Plum Torte? Sounds super chic but this cake can’t be any more simple and rustic. If you happen to have plums that are just in that poetic point between very firm and pretty sweet, there’s no better way to showcase their deliciousness than in this cake. It’s has a very soft and tender crumb and the top gets slightly toasty for a nice texture. The juicy and bright plums get cooked to perfection, tender enough to take a piece with a fork and bursting with those sweet and acidic notes that make plums so special. Serve it with whipped cream or a big scoop of ice cream, or warm it and have it simply as it is for a few minutes of magic any given morning.
Besides the tender cake absorbing all the sweet juices of the plums, one of the things you’ll love most about this torte is its rustic appearance and how easy it is to make. Anyone can make this amazing cake! So next time..
This Peach Crumb Gooey Butter Cake is a super fun way to mash up two super simple and beloved desserts; a crumb cake and a gooey butter cake! Words cannot describe how incredibly addictive this cake is. The cake layer is rich and dense, reminiscent of a pound cake or a really moist shortbread. The gooey cream cheese layer on top is sticky and sweet and contrast perfectly with the cake. And the crumbly peach layer adds a nice tangy bite to this easy cake. I know you’ll love this cake very, very much. Get ready to be asked for one everywhere you go!
One of the things you’ll love most about this cake is that it doesn't requiere any complicated techniques and uses very simple ingredients. You don’t even need an electric hand mixer! And you may use peaches, nectarines, apricots or plums, whatever fresh stone fruit you have at home...
Who doesn't love a light and fluffy ricotta cake? This peach blueberry ricotta cake has a mouthful texture with an airy and light crumb. The juiciness of the sweet peaches on top bring a lot of moisture, creating an incredibly delicious gooey and crunchy top crust. The addition of blueberries makes this cake even more fresh and sweet. This ricotta cake is full of flavor and perfect for summer days.
You know I have different versions of ricotta cakes. Practically one for every season! I love hearing your stories about how they have been on your tables for tea parties, book club meetings and girlfriends brunches. It’s always fun and exciting to see how…
This cherry clafoutis is a rich and velvety with a creamy custard-like texture. This classic French dessert is made with very basic baking ingredients and very little effort so you can make it in a cinch! Its texture is like a cross between a flan and a bread pudding. Is light and luscious at the same time. The sweetness of the cherries adds a beautiful floral and nutty note to each bite. This easy clafoutis is everything you want in a simple summer dessert!

What’s not to love about a good Gooey Butter Cake, especially when it’s made with zesty lemon and juicy blueberries? This melt-in-your-mouth gooey butter cake recipe is made from scratch without using any cake mix. I created a very well balanced recipe that is not overly sweet, something I know not many people love about this cake. It consists of a crumbly cake as the base layer and a gooey cream cheese layer on top. You only need the most basic baking ingredients and 1 hour to make it. It’s a total crowd pleaser that everyone will love!
If I would have made this gooey butter cake back in high school, I can assure you I would have been the most popular girl back then, saving me from many insecurities growing up, lol! But I can make…
You really need to try it for yourself to understand how moist and full of flavor is this Orange and Olive Oil Carrot Cake recipe. It’s super soft and tender and the combination of cinnamon, ginger, allspice and nutmeg make it so warm and cozy. Two unexpected ingredients, orange and olive oil, elevate this cake to a new dimension! Have a bite and it will transport you to a riviera on the Adriatic sea, eating cake and sipping coffee during the afternoon like it’s your only job.
I sometimes don’t trust my obsession of experimenting with new flavor combinations. It can be bad news to people around me because they will have to eat whatever I decided to put together, no matter what that was. But sometimes, and happy to say it’s most of the times…
Clafoutis is a simple and easy to make recipe that has luscious texture reminiscent of a pudding or a flan. It’s basically pouring a pancake batter over fruits. Its richness pairs perfectly with any fruit you use, whether fresh or frozen. Every bite is delicate and decadent at the same time. You only need a handful of simple ingredients and 45 minutes to have this on your plate. Serve it as dessert or breakfast, totally your call!
If I’m going to be honest (as I’m always with you!) we ate this for breakfast. Please don’t judge and remember this is a safe place to share : ) Maybe it’s because when I first learned about clafoutis many years ago was through Ina Garten’s book “Barefoot in Paris”, and she…
This classic moist and rich chocolate cake recipe is the only one you’ll need for a basic chocolate cake in your recipe book. This cake is decadent but still feels light and not overly sweet. The simplicity of it is what makes it extra! Each bite will awaken your senses to a delightful trip of pure bliss! It’s unfussy but still looks beautiful. You can approach it with easiness and no stress at all, which is the key for a perfect chocolate cake!
To this day, chocolate has to be one of the foods we are more passionate about. Just thinking about it makes you feel lush and opulent and yet is a comforting taste that you crave when feeling blue. It’s everything all at once. Like what we are at the essence of our soul. And that essence should be celebrated…

This Apple Ricotta Cake is soooo gooey I needed to mentioned in the title! It's very crumbly, tender and incredibly moist as all of my ricotta cakes. It’s perfect for any time you want a sweet simple cake to share with people you love during the fall season.

These melt-in-your-mouth ricotta baked donuts have a beautifully tight crumb that makes every bite incredibly rich and satisfying. Their tender and sturdy crumb makes them perfect to hold one in each hand. The obsession will be so real, and this is coming from someone who was a firm believer that donuts are meant to be yeasted and fried. But I finally yielded to the peer pressure of baked donut lovers and after a few recipe testings, I must say I get it now! I finally understand why everyone loves a good baked donut. And this recipe was the one that made me fall in love with them too.
What makes these different from your average baked donut recipe is the ricotta cheese. It gives these a tender, almost creamy crumb that a standard batter just doesn't deliver. Besides, it adds a slight tangy note that balances all the sweetness beautifully. You won't taste it, but your donuts won't be as rich without it. I also used a combination of regular and brown sugar and a touch of cinnamon to give depth to every soft bite…
These soft blueberry lemon sweet rolls are your answer when you're looking for a bright and fruity alternative to cinnamon rolls. They have a triple filling of sweetened cream cheese, homemade lemon curd, and a jammy blueberry compote that gets swirled into every single bite. Because why have just one of your favorite flavors when you can have the three of them combined? I topped them with my blueberry cream cheese glaze, made with real blueberries that give a beautiful purplish hue that will make these the prettiest looking rolls. Overachiever? Well, they are just like us!
You know that all my cinnamon rolls and sweet rolls always stay super soft even when made the day before. This happens by adapting the tangzhong Japanese method into my dough recipe and setting a proper oven temperature, besides some other simple steps that create an almost unreal softness in these rolls. These are a make-ahead dream, ideal for any spring or summer brunch, or any morning you want to redefine your definition of casual. Warm and soft homemade whimsical rolls with a pretty homemade cream cheese glaze before 9 am? Hey, we're just doing the most we can ; )
I still can’t get over how irresistible these Pumpkin Cream Cheese Cinnamon Rolls turned out. You’re going to love how fluffy, soft, and pillowy they are. The cream cheese, butter, and brown sugar-cinnamon filling made them so gooey and moist, every bite just melts in your mouth. I slightly reduced the pumpkin purée to concentrate its flavor and eliminate some of its water, helping the dough bake up perfectly tender. I also played with the baking temperature to make sure they rose tall and pretty while getting that gorgeous orange-y color. Trust me, these babes hit all the cozy-fall-morning-breakfast marks!
You know there’s just something about warm cinnamon rolls that feels like home, but this pumpkin version takes it up a notch. The best part is watching them puff up in the oven while that irresistible smell of cinnamon and butter fills all your home. The good news is that these can be made fully overnight, just warm them up and pour the cream cheese icing in the morning. I promise they’ll still come out perfectly soft and gooey. It’s the kind of bake that makes your whole kitchen feel incredibly cozy…
These easy, soft, and moist small batch pumpkin chocolate chip muffins are the most rewarding fall breakfast treat. They’re loaded with chocolate chips and pumpkin purée, and using sour cream and a bit of almond butter (optional) makes the crumb ultra moist and rich. I buttered and rolled them in cinnamon sugar while they were still warm, making them highly addictive with their crunchy texture and nice cinnamon kick. You only need one bowl—no mixer required here! Plus, you have the option of making the batter overnight, so your morning unfolds even cozier than you imagined.
The batter for this chocolate chip pumpkin muffin recipe is unbelievably easy to make. If you want more muffins or want to make jumbo-sized ones, you can easily double the batter. I wanted to make these small batch not only to give you the option but also to have my upcoming fall mornings cleared up for other cozy and sweet breakfasts. It’s so hard to commit to just one, right?!
Almond butter is the surprise ingredient. It’s optional, but it adds fat and moisture, helping the crumb stay soft and gooey. I usually have it because I love a good smear over my cinnamon toast before my Pilates class. But I’ve been adding it lately to my muffins and pancake recipes…
The question is, why aren’t all your coffee cakes yeasted? No matter if you are new to yeasted coffee cakes or one of those that can’t have them any other way, you are going to fall in love with this apple version. I used apple cider (not the same as apple cider vinegar!) through different points in the recipe, infusing every component with the subtle sweetness we love from apples. And that’s including the dough, which is chewy and elastic like the best cinnamon roll you’ll ever have, but also has that fluffy and light cake-like texture thanks to the addition of baking powder. The warm flavors of the brown sugar–cinnamon filling and the cooked cinnamon apples make this so good! It can be made ahead and also cut in half easily. It’s a sweet little baking adventure that will leave your mornings smelling like fall.
Yeasted Coffee Cakes are kind of old school, but their unique texture is making me loving them so much right now. Let’s not fool ourselves: coffee cakes with baking powder and no yeast are just regular snacking cakes, and coffee cakes with yeast and no baking powder are basically giant cinnamon rolls. It’s the combination of these two leavening agents, plus an extra amount of acid and fat, that creates the uniquely fluffy and tender texture of a true old-school coffee cake. Thanks to the sponge…
(UPDATED) These super soft jumbo blueberry muffins are incredibly tender and ridiculously easy to make. You just need one bowl to mix everything! I added a sprinkle of Earl Grey tea leaves for a lovely, robust floral twist, but that's totally optional. This is the perfect blueberry muffin recipe for making ahead. You can use fresh or frozen blueberries, whatever you have tucked away. Have one warm and start your day with the coziest, dreamiest morning.
I love making these jumbo muffins because they always end up looking like something you’d spot through a bakery window and fall a little bit in love with. Like I told you about in my Jumbo Banana and Chocolate Chip Muffins, I just love how they make my kitchen counter feel—like a small, happy bakery…
These Honey Lavender Scones are flaky, buttery and super soft! For this update I eliminated the egg, creating in a tighter crumb that make these even more satisfying than before. They are baked until crispy-edges perfection and then bathe with honey butter. You may turn the lavender glaze pink by using blackberries as I did or using hibiscus tea!
If you are afraid of using lavender, please don’t be like me. I had the same fear, and I've been missing out a lot because of that. After working with high quality lavender and understanding how to work with it, I’ve been adding it to many recipes. I promise that in these soft scones…
Super soft, fluffy, pillowy and moist! These incredible Orange Cream Cinnamon Rolls are just a dream! The warmness of the cinnamon and the sweetness of the orange notes were like a cozy hug early in the morning. Because you know I hate to compromise when it comes to flavor and texture, I filled them with all my favorite things in rolls: cream cheese, a fruity filling and super cinnamon-y brown sugar-cinnamon mixture. I smeared a thick and creamy cream cheese glaze on top for more goodness in every bite! The good news? You have the option to fully bake these the day before and still eat soft and fluffy warm buns the next morning. Keep reading to learn how!
If only you would’ve smelled my kitchen when I was rubbing the orange zest with the brown sugar and cinnamon! When I caught myself smiling in awe after those fragrant notes started perfuming my kitchen I knew…

A bit of melted butter and a super simple vanilla glaze after baked make these a complete delight that will make you start your day with a very big smile.

Ok, you love Mallorca bread buns! Those rich, soft and bouncy Puerto Rican type of brioche buns. Now, imagine them filled with guava paste and sweet cream cheese!! These Guava and Cream Cheese mallorcas are so incredibly delicious! The hint of guava spread through the layers of the bread make them subtly sweet. The creamy cream cheese in the center adds a nice tang creating a lovely contrast. Trust me when I say you will finish yours and will be looking around to see from whom you can steal an extra bite!
Baking mallorcas is pretty easy and they’re one of those simple pleasures that puts you in a real good mood. I loved them since I was a little kid and I was happy as a clam every time my grandpa came home with that clear bag completely dusted with…
These sticky pecan cinnamon rolls with cinnamon cream cheese icing will be your new breakfast obsession for fall!
After trying them I was curious about…
So many of my favorite things for breakfast in one single bite! Bananas, blueberries and almonds! These Jumbo Banana Blueberry Muffins have almond in the batter and are made with some almond flour as well. They’re so tender and crumbly! The top is crunchy thanks to a nice layer of Demerara sugar over them! You only need one bowl, a whisk and a wooden spoon, that’s it! NO mixer or special equipment required. And the cool thing with these is that you can make the batter the night before and just bake them the next morning.
When I wake up with that rush for making muffins, I know it’s going to be a nice, warm and slowly paced morning. I love the idea of taking a glance at different corners of my kitchen and being inspired to bake a fresh batch of muffins with what I already have. This morning I happened…
These sweet rolls are bursting with blueberry flavor in each bite! They’re filled with a spread of cream cheese and a homemade blueberry compote where you can see the whole blueberries on it, making these perfectly satisfying and not overly sweet. A pretty purplish cream cheese icing bring these to a whole new level! Oh, and these are perfectly made the day before, another big yes for these soft gooey rolls!!
Sweet rolls is something we can crave most mornings. Pretty sure you can crave them too. I love the idea of just grabbing a piece of something for breakfast without too much thought…
These mallorcas are so light, puffy, fluffy and anything you might think could describe eating a sweet cloud! They’ll melt in your mouth, especially when warm or toasted. Traditionally these are served with confectioner’s sugar on top, but read below where I share other delicious ways for serving, including my favorite, toasted with butter and cinammon-sugar. So many ways to use this traditional Puerto Rican bread! I’m sure you’ll love this mallorca bread recipe!
If you haven’t heard about mallorcas before you might be wondering, what the heck are mallorcas? And I got you in here! Mallorcas are a Puerto Rican sweet bread that’s eaten mostly…
The taste of peanut butter shines in this Peanut Butter Coffee Cake. It has peanut butter in the batter and in the streusel for extra peanut butter goodness. The middle is filled with homemade blueberry preserves and the pieces of blueberries plus peanuts in the streusel give this cake a very nice bite! The consistency of the cake itself is like a quick bread but still super soft and fluffy. I can’t believe it’s already gone from my kitchen!
I’m not kidding when I tell you this cake if for peanut butter lovers, not likers. And I don’t want to scare away peanut butter neutral people because…
You know it’s not Valentine’s in here if there aren’t Heart Shaped Doughnuts in my kitchen!! This year I sticked to my bready dough and filled them with a sweet elderflower blueberry jam. I also used the Tangzhong method for the dough to make it soft and fresh for days, not only the day they were fried. I’m also telling you how you can make these overnight and a few cool tips on how to reheat doughnuts to make them taste even better than when fried!
Maybe it’s because everyone loves these doughnuts so much, from you my readers to my neighbors in the first floor, that I couldn’t help to make these for Valentine’s. There’s something magical about them and ironically, I think it is the amount of work behind them, haha!! After you finally sit down with a doughnut in one hand, a cup…
What else can be easier than a Nutella Heart Shaped Puff Pastry for Valentine’s?! This 3 ingredients Valentine's breakfast can be made by anyone in no time. Add fresh raspberries for a sweet romantic touch and you my friend will have created a true love masterpiece!!
I’m so happy to be posting here after being away the last few months while working on The Cooking Course! But now that the course it’s officially done and out in the world I was impatient to return to my regular postings. I had an amazing experience creating the course and am having a blast with the current participants. So many details and so much work is behind it. Enough to make you see the calendar one day and realize…
These Lemon Curd Jumbo Almond Muffins are for lemon lovers! The are full of sliced almonds, the tops are ultra crunchy and yes, they have lemon curd in the batter and lemon zest in the streusel on top. The texture is super crumbly, typical of quick breads. You will feel the hint of lemon in every bite!
I’m so happy to bring you this brand new recipe, the first in the last couple of months. I’ve been away working in something that’s been on my to-do list for a very long time, probably more than…
Even though I get bored pretty fast with things, I can get attached for a long time with anything that brings me comfort and happiness. Things that I know aren’t going to disappoint me when I need their support have a safe place in my heart. Like pancakes and French toast, my sweet breakfasts of choice. I’ve been making these two for most of my life, sometimes with a nonchalant approach. That’s why I had never paid too much attention to Dutch babies. But friends, this is so good!!!
Dutch baby is an airy and fluffy giant pancake. It puffs and rise high in the oven so it ends up with a crusty skin, a super crispy border but with a custardy crumb. It’s truly amazing! I was kind of upset…
But only you and me will know…
Homemade Raspberry Jelly Heart Shaped Doughnuts for Valentine’s breakfast!! Do I need to say more? I still will say these are yeasted and FRIED, exactly how doughnuts are intended to be made!! They’re super soft and tender but still with a chewy bite thanks to both all-purpose and bread flour. They will also be fresh for days thanks to the Tangzhong method and I’ll explain what is exactly that here in this post. These are a perfect and fun Valentine’s breakfast to be enjoyed any day of the year!
Given Valentine’s is near, I wanted to bring together my love for two flours that usually don’t get involved with each other in the baking world; all-purpose and bread. Bread flour has more protein than all-purpose, giving the dough you are making a more structured gluten formation, which helps in giving the final product that chewy bite we…
Not only these super soft and tender jumbo blueberry muffins are full of flavor, they are topped with a streusel inspired by one of the most popular dessert here at the blog, Blueberry Cheesecake. I used softened cream cheese and graham crackers to make the streusel that will top these bakery style blueberry muffins. You only need two bowls and a spoon to mix these up, that way you can easily have them any day you want!
I know the mere idea of having a bite of these early in the morning will make your day better instantly. I’m sure your mood…
Pasta, pasta!
Tart & Pies
This decadent No-bake Black Forest Chocolate Tart is my reinvention, my own twist on a classic Black Forest Cake. It's an impressive make-ahead dessert created with two types of ganache that gives every slice a lovely contrast of textures, and an easy homemade cherry compote in between. The crust is made with true cocoa powder instead of the typical chocolate cookies for an intense chocolate flavor. It is simple, elegant and incredibly decadent.
I love hoarding cherries when they start to pop around. I love that desserts made with them never end up overly sweet. As soon as I spot them, I take my tiny notebook and start writing all the recipes I want to create…
This No-Bake Blueberry Jam Cheesecake Tart has everything you want in a stunning dessert: a crisp graham crust, a jammy blueberry layer, and a rich cream cheese filling made with no eggs, no gelatin, and no heavy cream. It makes a strikingly beautiful no-bake tart with its golden crust below the purple bluish shiny compote and the bright white custardy cream cheese filling. I promise it will look like it came straight out of a patisserie window, but it was made by you in your very own kitchen!
I love how easy it was to come up with this summery layered blueberry dessert by just thinking about the components of other recipes I already love and make all the time. Those ones that always have your back and never disappoint. What I did was mix and match them in an unexpected way…
If you’re looking for a dessert that’s as effortless as it is beautiful, this No-Bake Lemon Tart with a Rosemary-Infused Chocolate Crust is it.
It doesn’t get any easier than these Pumpkin Pie Cream Cheese Tarts. They were born out of a desperate need to use up that leftover pumpkin purée from those other, more serious pumpkin recipes. The flaky, buttery dough makes the perfect base for the creamy, warm pumpkin pie filling. The mix of cinnamon, ginger, and all-spice tastes amazing, and the sweetened cream cheese on top makes these even creamier and dreamier. I used frozen puff pastry for convenience, but I’m sure they’ll be just as amazing with frozen pie crust—both give you that instant gratification feeling you get after baking these fun, cute, and easy tarts.
And because you can make them basically anytime the craving hits, they’ll be perfect as a quick breakfast, snack, or even an individual dessert. I dipped mine in my homemade caramel sauce, but you can serve them with my salted caramel ice cream too—can you imagine how pretty they’d look on the plate? Both fillings come together in 5 minutes and can be made a day ahead. These tarts show you love in so many ways!…
There’s something endlessly comforting about this classic Apple Tart. It’s amazing, beautiful, and the best proof that the simplest desserts can be the ones that feel the most special. And this apple tart version is as easy as it gets! A classic crisp pastry crust, thinly sliced fresh apples, a little sugar, cinnamon and butter are all you need! It always humbles me in different ways and I’m sure you will feel the same after pulling it out of the oven. The beautiful thing about this tart is that it doesn’t take much to make it look this stunning. This gooey pecan pie is warm and full of that caramelized nutty flavor that we all love, without the need of corn-syrup. And NO, it doesn't have maple syrup either. It’s just the combination of simple ingredients and a few tricks that makes this pie simply perfect. You don’t have to blind bake the crust either, which makes this pie a total breeze to make. It’s done in one hour if you have already some homemade or store-bought pie dough and only two hours if making the pie dough at the moment.
My memories with pecan pie go way back. We used to order it in a favorite restaurant and it was the only place we will have it. It was that good! Growing up and getting more conscious about the ingredients my family and I eat, I refrained from anything that would have corn syrup. It was a total bummer that…

The homemade pie crust is incredibly buttery and flaky, it will crumble in your mouth! It’s a a vibrant tart that will bring so much color to your day, anytime!
I have to admit I have never care much about strawberries, nevertheless after being cooked or baked. There are other berries that stand way above strawberries, that’s why I prefer to use blueberries or blackberries to share my kitchen stories.
Strawberries for me has been more about the nostalgia they evoke about summer days, when the only thing I want to be eating is…

I’m so happy I made this pear and blueberry tart! It’s been a while since I’ve made my buttery and flaky pie crust. I made this olive oil lemon tart to show you what a delicious experience baking with olive oil can be. In this tart the notes of the lemons are not hidden but only enhanced by the fruity notes of extra virgin olive oil. The supple and rich texture of the oil helps in creating a smooth and silky texture on this lemon tart. The flaky crust it’s made only with olive oil as well, so it’s double the goodness of this beloved pantry staple.
If there’s a recipe I keep coming back to is this mango crostata with a thick spread of sweetened cream cheese on the bottom. It has the most buttery and flaky crust! Each cookie bakes crisp at the edges and soft and chewy in the center. They’re bright, tangy, and the cutest thing to share for Valentine’s Day or any spring celebration.
I was so excited to bake these sugar cookies. I’ve had these cutters forever, and they were completely forgotten until they finally saw the light of day. The cool thing about them is that you can create a double filling, adding more texture, contrast, and flavor to each cookie. And settling for one filling when you can have two?
I’ll be the first to admit I don’t have the patience or skill for elaborate cookie decorations. But with these cookie…

Since the first time I saw one of those embossing rolling pins I fell in love with them. I’ve been wanting to get one with fluttering butterflies like crazy for some time now. I guess I loved the idea of making a…

And they are topped with a pile of whipped cream dusted with cocoa and cinnamon, like a real cappuccino but without the mug. Lets say this is a coffee shot that you would be able to take anytime of the day!!
I have to admit I started drinking coffee veeeery late, as in less than 10 years ago. I had taken sips before, of course, but never had a daily routine of drinking coffee. My grandmother used to drink lots of it during the day. I’m talking about 5 to 6 cups a day. I loved sitting with her in…

Guava panetelas or “panetelas de guayaba” are cake bars made with a very dense cake batter that is filled in the middle with guava paste. They are very traditional here in Puerto Rico, everyone loves them! You only need 10 ingredients and that’s including the salt, and probably less than 40 minutes to have them in your mouth. Even if this is a dense cake batter, the crumb is soft and buttery and you won’t be able to eat just one!

These sugar cookies are soft and chewy and completely made from scratch. You will be amazed with how easy these are to make, especially with my trick to prevent cookies from spreading in the oven. Any shape will be safe with this recipe! And think of all the fillings and glazes you can make. But because Mother’s Day is literally around the corner, I’m sticking with Nutella as filling and a hibiscus glaze for a pink pretty color. You don’t see cookies so full of love everyday.
If there’s something I’ll encourage you to do is to keep going. And keep baking of course!! That’s why I’m very happy to have the opportunity again to collaborate with Borden in their campaign “Bake it ’til you make it”. Baking sweet things, no matter how little you think you know, is something that should always be encouraged!
These simple thin, chewy but still crispy chocolate chip cookies are simply the best. A little trick? Adding chocolate chip dust to mix in the chocolate chip cookie dough besides a good amount of chocolate chips. And then you have all those whole chocolate chips. The result? A thin chocolate chip cookie that has chocolate all over the place and it’s chewy but still crispy on the bite.
These chocolate raspberry shortbread bars are so simple and easy to make, I’m sure you are going to make them in repeat! The shortbread is thick and buttery, the raspberry layer bursts with lots of flavor and it’s the perfect contrast to the super smooth chocolate layer on top, which is made with our star ingredient, coconut milk. Yes! The chocolate ganache on top is made with coconut milk! And you will discover in this post how to incorporate coconut milk in your every day recipes.
This sugar cookies are soft and tender but with a crisp bottom. The best Nutella sugar cookies!
Cheesecakes
If you call yourself a strawberry lover, this Strawberry Cheesecake Tart is perfect for you! Strawberries aren't here just for decoration, they're the star of the show, and they show up twice, doing two completely different jobs. I made it on a golden, buttery graham cracker crust that adds a nice contrast to every bite, and topped it with a luscious soft meringue that's cooked before it ever touches the tart, so it won't weep or deflate over your cheesecake and ruin your bright masterpiece.
Even if everyone swoons over this strawberry cheesecake like it took you all day, here's the truth: every single component, the crust, the compote, the filling, the topping, the meringue, is simple on its own. It's only when they all come together that the whole thing turns into something worth swooning over…
When you are looking for a decadent chocolate dessert that's out of the ordinary, this ultra-creamy chocolate cheesecake with a brownie crust is here for you. It has three layers of chocolate perfection that any chocolate lover won't be able to resist. Instead of the traditional chocolate cookie crust, I made the base with a chewy, fudgy brownie that doesn't get soggy. The chocolate filling has a smooth, truffle-like texture, and a silky, high-gloss ganache made with coconut milk for an extra-silky finish crowns it all. It's pure decadence in every single bite!
I think the idea behind this goes back to how much I love brownies and cheesecake together. I know people might prefer the classic brownie and ice cream combination, and even though I will never say no to that one, my heart will choose the brownie cheesecake combination a thousand times over…
Of all the ways you can enjoy the sweetness of fresh blueberries, one of my favorites has to be inside a creamy, luscious cheesecake!
You can dance to so many notes at the same time!…
(updated recipe card) This Creamy Pumpkin Cheesecake with Salted Caramel and Brown Butter Pecan Crust will be the real main star of your Thanksgiving menu. You won’t find a pumpkin cheesecake as creamy, silky, decadent, and with such an amazing balance of flavors as this one! A drizzle of homemade salted caramel makes every bite pure bliss. I bet you won’t have any leftovers from this irresistible cheesecake!
You may be thinking, what makes this pumpkin cheesecake so special among the zillion other pumpkin cheesecakes out there?
Well, for starters, this cheesecake calls for five boxes of cream cheese, a good amount of eggs, and more pumpkin purée than other pumpkin cheesecakes. I wanted the pumpkin to shine and not be masked, that’s why I used some brown sugar and a pinch of nutmeg to enhance its flavor nicely, while keeping it balanced with the rest of the ingredients. And the brown butter crust adds so much warmth to every bite!…
This Peach Cheesecake Tart is perfect for those occasions when you need something dreamy and summery but still unfussy. It’s made with a pâte sucrée crust and has peaches both at the top and bottom of the cheesecake. A sprinkle of cinnamon sugar at the base and over the peach slices makes them sweeter and juicier. And, as always, the cheesecake filling is creamy and silky, just the way we love it. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream and a few blueberries for extra summer goodness!
What I love about making this tart is that it’s a bit of a project, in the sense that the crust is made in different stages, and the cheesecake also needs a few components prepped in advance. But I enjoy the adrenaline rush of doing all that prep in just a few hours and mentally organizing how I’ll approach each step. That’s where the real fun is for me!…

There are probably few things more impressive than a really good homemade cheesecake. That ultra-creamy, luscious texture we all love can seem intimidating at first because it requires attention to detail—but those details are way more accessible than you’d think. And once you get past them, making a cheesecake is actually one of the easiest things ever!
I love making them, I love eating them, but more than anything, I love sharing them. Watching someone take that first bite is priceless. I once saw someone close his eyes after every bite, like he had reached nirvana. Honestly? Watching that was nirvana for me too…
When you are looking for a new and delicious adventure, why not challenge the laws of baking by mashing up a cake and a cheesecake? Combining a soft and fluffy cake with a creamy and dense cheesecake gives a very cool exciting contrast. Each bite will bring a surprise to your senses, going from the tender crumb of the cake to the velvety richness of the cheesecake.
Mashing up these two desserts is like inviting two best friends to the same party: you get to have what you love about each and even more, because when brought together, they create something totally unexpected and even more fun!…
This lovely cheesecake is full of caramel notes and apple flavor. And the texture is the creamiest! It’s soft, rich and very velvety. The crust is made with Biscoff cookies for a change of the traditional Graham crackers. I reduced some apple cider to concentrate its flavor before adding to the cream cheese filling for a very delicate apple flavor. The spread of Biscoff on top and the cooked cinnamon apples were just the perfect finishing touches to make this cheesecake taste like fall.
This little cake is a nod to the old blogging days when you shot and shared literally what you were doing for your friends and family any given week. My friend was organizing a cozy lunch so everybody could say hi to her sister that lives abroad. And of course, I was asked for dessert! Since we were a small group, I wanted to bring something small and cute...
I know this super creamy White Chocolate and Cherry Cheesecake recipe will become one of your favorites immediately! The texture is decadent and rich but still feels light! It’s filled with syrupy cooked cherries that pair perfectly with the creamy cheesecake. You will find so much joy in the process in the process of making this, from transforming the tart sweet cherries to a thick compote to whipping up the silky and creamy cheesecake filling and converting simple egg whites in a luscious meringue to top it all. It’s so much goodness in every bite!
One of the reasons this cheesecake is impossibly creamy is because I only use cream cheese. I don’t use sour cream, yogurt, heavy cream or any other filler. Additionally, besides whole eggs I also use egg yolks to add creaminess to this cheesecake. Bite after bite…
This burnt Basque Cheesecake is a creamy and decadent dessert full of creme caramel notes. This unique Spanish-inspired cheesecake combines the creamy texture of traditional cheesecake with the sharp, nutty flavor of Manchego cheese for a lovely balance of flavors. It’s baked in a very hot oven for a short amount of time, creating that characteristic burnt topping while the center is still runny with a custardy texture. If you love desserts that aren’t ultra sweet or fruity, this Basque cheesecake is so for you!
When it comes to cheesecake, you know I have played around with tons of variations and flavors. One variation I have been wanting to try has been the original Basque cheesecake or “Tarta de Queso”, with…
This ultra creamy and velvety blackberry cheesecake is a pure summer dream! The deep pink color comes only from all the goodness of the blackberries. I strained the blackberry purée added to the cheesecake and the simple blackberry curd topping for a super smooth and pleasing texture. It’s a true gem that may not be worn but sure will adorn any special table!
If you ask me I would say I’m just getting started with cheesecakes, even if this is my number 472794830 on the blog, haha! That number or may not be inflated, but the reality is that, even though I have made aaaaa lot of cheesecakes, there are still…
This is simply the best lemon curd cheesecake recipe! The aromatic sweet notes of lemon and the tanginess of the cream cheese make a beautiful flavor combination really hard to beat. The classic buttery graham cracker crust is the perfect base for this cheesecake. You leave it just with the lemon curd topping or you can crown it with a tall and fluffy Italian meringue, which contrasts perfectly with the creamy texture of the cheesecake. You need to taste it for yourself understand how delicious really is this cheesecake. It’s the creamiest, silkiest and most decadent cheesecake recipe you’ll find!
I can’t believe I’m publishing this recipe now. I developed this recipe a long time ago for a family lunch and is the inspiration for my Brownie Cheesecake Bars and my Lemon Curd Cheesecake Tart. But time went by and I never…
Each layer of this easy cranberry cheesecake tart is pure magic! The creamy and velvety cheesecake is the perfect base for the luscious and silky ruby-red cranberry curd. The sugar cookie crust brings a super fun snap to every bite. It’s an easy recipe that’s so perfect for the season! Top it with sugared cranberries and pretty sugar cookies and you have a show stealing dessert!
I think it’s probably that bright red color that makes you fall in love with this tart. I knew it will be oh-so-pretty, but I was so smitten with the final result. It was a staring contest between she and me, and she totally lost! It’s a bit of lemon juice in the curd plus…
You won’t find a creamier and silkier espresso cheesecake. The coffee taste is very present in each and every bite, without being bitter. The filling is ultra decadent but still airy, thanks to a trick I talk about below. And I made the chocolate crust with Dutch processed cocoa powder for a more intense chocolate flavor. I’m telling you, this is the cheesecake you must have when you have your next cheesecake craving!! It’s so good and so special to me!
A few Christmases ago we bought my hubby an espresso machine. The big one with lots of shiny buttons that I wasn’t allow to touch during the early days. My husband has always bonded with our daughter over coffee because…
Never would I have thought that the thin spiced cookies that have saved my life in many flights would become one of the best cheesecake crust I have ever made. Because they have more fat than graham crackers, the consistency of this crust is softer, almost cakey, and blends so deliciously when mixed with the cheesecake. I thought dulce de leche would pair perfectly with them. Both have notes of warm and spiced caramel. The Italian meringue on top makes this cheesecake something so good you will make sure a big piece remains on your fridge before sharing it with anyone!
This recipe has been in my notebook for a few weeks now. I’m very happy to finally share it with you, just in time for the holidays. As you probably know by now…
These Lemon Curd Mini Cheesecakes are so much fun for Easter Sunday! The cheesecake filling is super creamy and the lemon curd well, super lemony, as you can tell by how much that bright yellow color is screaming! A super fluffy meringue on top works as the perfect canvas for Easter decorations. They are simply adorable! A perfect make ahead dessert for Easter and super easy to put together!
If you’ve been around here, you know I’m a bit lazy when it comes to creating elaborate decorations. Probably a combination of laziness and lack of skills in reality because to tell you the truth, I don’t know much about highly specialized techniques to make fancy candy decorations. What I love to do is to use…
A good Basque cheesecake has to be one of the easiest cheesecakes to make and one of the most surprising things to eat! The basic recipe has only 6 ingredients, you mix it by hand and it’s baked in 20 minutes. It’s ultra creamy, dense and rich but still feels pretty light because it has no crust. I made this Basque cheesecake with lemon and lavender, sending subtle floral notes all over your taste buds. It’s something totally beautiful and insanely good!
If you’re a total cheesecake lover you probably have heard of Basque Cheesecake by now. If you haven’t, word on the internet says it’s a dessert originated in the ’90's by chef Santiago Rivera from La Viña in San Sebastián for his restaurant Pintxos. The original recipe calls for…
You won’t believe how silky and luscious this creamy white chocolate raspberry cheesecake is. The white chocolate enhances the sweet and tangy notes of the cream cheese and the raspberries, doing wonders for the texture and flavor of this cheesecake, trust me! The key is adding the white chocolate at the very last moment. Top it with a mountain of Italian Meringue and you will have a cheesecake that’s impossible to resist!
I have this thing of loving to see everyone around me happy. I bet you do too! That is the real thing Valentine’s should be all about. And cheesecakes always make everyone happy! In my family, with my friends and with all of you here at The Yellow Butterfly, everyone has a very special reaction to my cheesecakes and never can resist to them. I know you guys love many sweet and pretty confections I share here. But with cheesecakes…
For this Thanksgiving I’m giving an update to my first ever cheesecake recipe; this cheesecake with caramelized plums. Instead of a full deep cheesecake, I made my cheesecake tart, which only need half of the ingredients for the cheesecake batter and bakes in half of the time of my regular full sized cheesecake. It also calls for a…
I’m sorry for pumpkin pie, but this has to be the best Thanksgiving pumpkin dessert ever! This pumpkin chocolate cheesecake is the creamiest cheesecake. The reason is because instead of just drizzling chocolate over a pumpkin cheesecake mixture, I divided the batter in two halves and mixed pumpkin puree in one and chocolate in the other. I also went to the dark side and used dark chocolate for the batter, for the graham cracker…
You will love this easy peanut butter cheesecake tart! It is topped with a layer of chocolate and a layer of dulce de leche for a decadent dessert that’s full of caramel and nutty flavors. And the crust has crushed toasted peanuts on it for a more intense peanut flavor in each bite. This peanut butter cheesecake tart can’t wait to be part of your table.
This is a creamy, rich and dense blueberry cheesecake recipe that you will have in repeat! It’s a New York style cheesecake with a buttery graham cracker crust and a tangy blueberry compote. As you see while drooling over the pictures, with this recipe you’ll get a smooth top cheesecake, without any cracks, burnt spots or a deflated center. Still, it’s thick, dense and super creamy! This one is my little baby! That’s why I’m giving it the update treatment with new glossy pics. Hope you love the backstory of my first official cheesecake as well as this beloved recipe!
Decadent Desserts
A Blueberry Charlotte Cheesecake has to be one of the prettiest no-bake desserts to make. A Charlotte cheesecake is what happens when you combine the elegant and classic French Charlotte cake with the easiness of a no-bake cheesecake and create something completely unique. This creamy and decadent dessert is made without gelatin or condensed milk, can be made ahead of time, and only uses the goodness of real blueberries for its delicate purple color. If you’re looking for an easy but elegant dessert, this is the perfect one for you.
I have to admit that Charlotte cakes used to intimidate me. I think it's such a beautiful dessert, but I always thought it would be tedious and annoying to make. And oh boy, I'm glad it proved me wrong, because you don't even have to turn the oven ON for this one! What makes it look elaborate is its intrinsic shape and layering. You arrange ladyfinger cookies (which are kind of fancy on their own) in a round shape and fill the center with something creamy, making a layer in the center with more ladyfingers soaked in a delicious syrup. The hard work is having to wait one day before tasting it!…
What I love about these heart-shaped mini pavlovas is how effortlessly special they feel. They bake up with a crisp meringue shell, a soft marshmallow-like center, won’t weep, and hold their shape beautifully, making them perfect as an individual dessert or as pavlova cookies for sharing. The subtle pinkish hue, the mascarpone whipped cream, and fresh strawberries will make these mini pavlovas live in your heart forever.
These are such a fun and rewarding project to make, and with Valentine’s Day around the corner, it’s just another excuse to bake them. As beautiful as they look, they’re actually pretty easy to make; you just have to pay attention to a few details. Active time is only about 30 minutes, and the rest is a job for the oven. I think they’re such a chic, cute, and unpretentious confection, you’ll be…
This tiramisu with a brownie bottom has to be one of the best things I have ever made!
These Vodka Sour Jelly Shots are the kind of party treat that looks like a little extra, but is surprisingly easy to pull off. You can make them 1 to 2 days in advance, and yes, even the meringue decoration can be prepped ahead if you’re feeling fancy. They’re playful, citrusy, and just unexpected enough to steal the show anywhere you bring them. Oh yes, I can hear your friends shouting “shot! shot!” from here!
I know lemon shots on their own are already crowd-pleasers, but it’s the little details that make these extra special and fun. And you know it’s those details that make a recipe feel very special, even if it’s something as familiar as lemon jelly shots…
I know there’s a tiramisu version for everything these days, and trust me, I’m not mad about it. You know I love playing around with the classics and giving them a nice, unexpected spin. But in the middle of all those versions, this Coconut Tiramisu feels like a beach vacation in a spoon. It’s so creamy, light, and full of coconut flavor through every layer. The sweet shredded coconut adds a bit of texture, and the chopped pistachios bring a nutty bite that’s impossible to resist.
There’s no baking involved here. Just a few bowls and a few hours in the fridge. You can make it a few hours ahead or even the day before serving, which is perfect for planning ahead. When it’s time to serve, just sprinkle…
You know how sometimes the sides dishes are even better than the main dish, right? That’s what happens with this no-egg Salted Caramel Ice Cream! I made it as a topping for my Pecan Pie Tart and my Pear Almond tart. But when eaten alone, oh boy! It’s a total experience on its own. Besides being made without eggs, you can make this ice cream with or without an ice cream machine. Whatever works for you the best, it’s still super rich and decadent either way. It’s that easy!
Can I tell you a secret? Having a batch of this ice cream in your freezer would be your best trick to elevate any sweet treat in a pinch. Besides crowning your very own delicious creations, you can put it over a good store bought pound cake or your favorite bakery's pie. Or serve it…
Once you make this impressive No-bake Chocolate Tart you will fall in love with it immediately. You’ll only need 10 basic ingredients and 10 minutes to put this tart together, and that’s including the crust! It has a silky and rich truffle-like texture. It's made with pure coconut milk and you can use vegan butter and vegan chocolate chips for a vegan version. Or use gluten-free Graham crackers for a gluten-free version as well. This tart is incredibly simple but makes an elegant and decadent dessert!
This chocolate tart is a dessert that you can bring to any dinner party or gathering that you have, especially those that land in your calendar last minute. I love seeing people’s faces after they take that first bite. Everyone is always so impressed, especially after finding out it’s a no-bake tart. I think anything chocolate or tart-shaped immediately feels pretty sophisticated, and people will think you posses magical baking skills! That’s why they fall in love…
All your summer sweet dreams will come true with this creamy, luscious and custardy Peach Tiramisu! It’s made like a classic Italian tiramisu with just eggs, mascarpone cheese, sugar and without heavy cream. The twist relies on adding the sweetness of peaches by using a homemade peach syrup for soaking the ladyfingers and a homemade peach jam that’s layered with the cookies and the mascarpone cream! As it happened to me, you’ll be blown away after the first bite!
I’m so excited about this fun and unique take of a tiramisu! Here I wanted to combine the sweet, floral notes of the peaches with the creamy richness of the tiramisu’s mascarpone cream to create a truly delightful summer dessert that’s decadent but still feels…
What I love about sugared cranberries, besides that deep burgundy reddish color, is that they are…
I can’t even tell you how much fun are these Sparkling Wine Strawberry Lavender Ice Cream floats.
As you probably know by now…
This raspberry tiramisu will draw a smile in your face with its bright taste. The fresh raspberries in every bite make it sweet, fruity and citrusy at the same time. I soaked the ladyfingers in strong espresso with Chambord raspberry liquor for a subtle boozy raspberry note that makes this taste so decadent and luxurious. And the mascarpone cream is the most silky and creamy you could taste, and I tell you here how to get it like that and prevent curdling when mixing the cream up. This raspberry tiramisu is the perfect no-bake dessert for any Valentine’s celebration you have in mind!
If you have read my Classic Tiramisu with Brownie Crust, you already know that tiramisu had never been on my top list of decadent desserts. I never got the fuzz about it. But that was because…
Who doesn’t love an ultra silky and creamy flan?! This flan is the perfect recipe for any fall celebration you have. The texture is ultra creamy thanks to the pumping pureé, the cream cheese and the sweetened condensed milk, which is the only sweetener in tis recipe. Thanks to the burnt caramel and the Italian meringue on top, you don’t need extra sugar for the flan. In this post I’ll tell you how to make a pumpkin flan…
This airy and chewy Pavlova never fails. Most of the time, the simpler things end up being quite fascinating. This recipe is the perfect example of that. Would you believe a few amount of ingredients and a small amount of effort can culminate in such a beautiful and impressive dessert?
This 4 ingredients dulce ice cream recipe is so, so creamy and smooth you wont’ believe it’s made with no-eggs. It has dulce de leche in the ice cream mixture and dulce de leche swirls for an intense dulce de leche caramel flavor in every spoon you take. And it has brownie pieces inside to make it even better! You can make this ice cream two ways, no-churn or with an ice cream machine. Either way it’s going to be pure decadence and just the best homemade dulce del leche ice cream you could taste!
It’s been a while since my last tres leches cake. And since you guys loved so much my coquito recipe I guess I will put the two together in one amazing recipe. That's how this tres leches made with coquito came to be. Swap coquito for eggnog and you have an eggnog tres leches. It has a sponge but still super soft cake soaked in sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk and, you guessed it, coquito!! Even if you would think the pistachios and blueberries are pure decorative, they both bring a nice texture and contrast to this smooth rich cake.
The ricotta here makes this cheesecake more airy and less tart than my previous recipes. And I think the almond biscotti crust also makes it lighter, it’s not as dense and buttery as the traditional graham crust. Of course you can mix and match toppings with the cheesecakes. Even crusts.
An Hour or less
The almond butter and the natural gooeyness of ripe bananas help this Almond Butter Banana Bread stay tender, soft, and fluffy for days. Made with just 2 to 3 bananas and a short list of short-and-sweet simple baking ingredients, this loaf is naturally moist, light in texture, and full of banana flavor, without feeling heavy. The almond butter adds richness and structure, while the crunchy topping brings the kind of contrast that keeps you coming back for another slice.
There’s something so comforting about walking into your kitchen, rolling up your sleeves, grabbing whatever ingredients you have on hand, and still ending up with something as cozy and satisfying as this banana bread. I’m completely obsessed with these kinds of recipes, especially now, as we ease our way into the new year. And the fact that you only need…
One variation I have been wanting to try has been the original Basque cheesecake or “Tarta de Queso”, with…
I can’t even tell you how much fun are these Sparkling Wine Strawberry Lavender Ice Cream floats.

Eating with your fingers…

You are going to fall in love with this light and airy, yet fudgy, rich and decadent flourless chocolate cake infused with lavender as much as I did. The contrast of textures is what makes it so interesting; rich and decadent on the inside with a thin and crispy shell on the top. And it’s naturally gluten-free. The addition of lavender makes this cake perfect for any spring or summer gathering. And I promise the flavor is floral and mellow and perfectly balanced. Everything about this cake is sensational!
One of the things I love most about this cake is how unpretentious it is, and still it causes a commotion when it’s out of the oven and, most importantly, when someone takes a bite of it. It’s kind of unreal…

This easy flourless chocolate is fudgy but still very light. It has a texture like no other thing you have ever tasted! Thanks to beating the egg whites and incorporating lots of air this cake rise like no other, then collapses right in front of your eyes when taken out of the oven, leaving the amazing crackled texture that characterizes this flourless chocolate cake!
These chocolate raspberry shortbread bars are so simple and easy to make, I’m sure you are going to make them in repeat!
